This project involved focusing on two distinct user personas. Firstly, catering to our wholesale customers who sought a seamless online ordering experience and access to our latest product launches. Secondly, addressing the needs of the internal staff, including myself, by developing a comprehensive back-end dashboard. This dashboard covered order processing, payment and shipping procedures, sales report reviews, and website updates—emphasizing the importance of being PCI compliant.
Understanding the unique pain points of each user allowed for the creation of an enhanced user experience that benefitted both customers and staff.
This wasn’t a typical project where off-the-shelf solutions such as WordPress or popular CMS platforms sufficed. The decision to create a custom website served a dual purpose: delivering a tailor-fit online experience for Monague’s users and establishing a scalable platform to accommodate future growth and evolving requirements.
The impact has been significant. Monague Native Crafts has witnessed consistent year-over-year (YoY) online revenue growth through the website. Overcoming challenges, such as efficiently streamlining sales order entry from the website into the ERP system, resulted in a remarkable 50% reduction in labor time. Encouraged by this success, the company expanded its reach by launching a retail shop for B2C customers. Recognizing the need for agility, the Shopify platform was strategically employed for a faster turnaround time, aligning with the company’s evolving needs.
